All About Me

Hi! I am Tonya Roes, and I have been working with students since I was 16- over 25 years of hands-on experience in education. I’m a cerified K-6 teacher as well as certified in Exceptional Education (K-12), with endorsements in Reading and ESOL.

I’ve worked with learners of all backgrounds and abilities, and I’m passionate about helping each child be the best version of themselves while building a strong foundational love of learning. Through my approach, students are encouraged to engage with the content and each other, feel empowered and capable and receive research-based multisensory instruction that supports their growth academically and socially.

When I’m not working with students, I enjoy a full and active life centered around family, faith, and personal growth. As a parent to a college student and a former foster parent, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the importance of support, patience, and connection.

I love traveling, learning, and staying active through hiking, kayaking, and strenth training. I also enjoy reading, worship, and spending quality time with friends and family-often with my dog joining me on walks or even the occasional 5K!
